New generation WD TV Live streaming media player incorporates Spotify music service
Western Digital yesterday released its new generation WD TV Live streaming media player which offers the Spotify music service. The upgraded Wi-Fi enabled media player equips an intuitive user interface that provides users with the latest movies, TV shows, music and online services from companies like Netflix, Hulu Plus and Blockbuster directly on their TV.
Capable of delivering full-HD 1080p video resolution, the streaming media player connects wirelessly to the web or through an Ethernet connection with 802.11n connectivity. Users can enjoy personal media including pictures, videos and music on their home entertainment systems through this device. It lends support to various kinds of file formats for streaming content from any connected USB drive, digital camcorder, camera or network drive like the My Book Live personal cloud storage.

The company claims that their latest device is the first streaming media player to integrate the Spotify music service. Subscribers of the service can now enjoy unlimited on-demand access to its catalog, consisting of more than 15 million songs, on their home entertainment system. Furthermore, the media player features the Dailymotion video service which offers quality HD video content from users, individual content creators and premium partners.
