Playing music through iTunes on home entertainment systems may have seemed impossible without a server. Now MP3tunes has joined hands with Roku to let music lovers enjoy their favorite iTunes tracks on the home TV through Roku players. Users may now listen to tracks from iTunes library on their TVs without accessing the home server.

All Roku players will now allow users to access tracks stored online in their MP3tunes Locker. To enjoy music on the players, music aficionados simply need to connect and sync music to a web-based locker. With the MP3tunes channel, users can listen to songs previously available only through iTunes.

“Now customers can get their music library to their TV without the complexity or cost of a home server,” affirmed Michael Robertson, CEO of MP3tunes. “For less than $100, iTunes users or any music enthusiast can turn a TV into a home stereo and take advantage of the best speakers in their house.”

The channel’s default one-click shuffle mode allows users to play a random mix of music along with a display of cover art. Listeners may select the tracks, artists or playlists that they wish to hear by browsing through them. Users can store up to 2,500 songs on their Roku players thanks to the built-in storage capacity of about 10GB.

“Roku customers are increasingly taking advantage of streaming music services, and now with MP3tunes we are giving them access to their full iTunes music library right on the TV,” explianed Jim Funk, VP, business development for Roku. “In addition to being a terrific video player with support for Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, and a whole host of other great sports and entertainment content, the Roku player is also a gateway to rich audio entertainment thanks to MP3tunes.”

If users wish to upgrade the storage capacity, they can avail of up to 200GB of memory through the MP3tunes Premium Locker account. Additionally, Roku player owners can enjoy a host of services like Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand, MLB.TV and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Users can also play songs on devices that support internet access through MP3tunes’ open music API.

Music lovers may now grab their Roku players, each with a $30 (approx. Rs. 1,400) discount and a free MP3tunes Premium Locker account.
