It looks like those anticipating the release of Boxee Box need to take a heavy dose of patience. According to the official Boxee blog, D-Link has decided to make the Boxee Box available for sale from November this year. The device was initially slated to be launched by the end of Q2.

The company aims at providing users with a PC like experience on a set-top box with this upcoming release. It will allow HD videos displaying 1080p resolutions to be played through the web or a local network on a home TV. Besides providing for hardware acceleration, it lets the TV playback almost everything including Flash 10.1.

Users are offered access to social networking sites like Twitter, Faceook and so on. Apart from letting users avail of music and entertainment content from the web, TV browsing is made easier with the supplied remote control. Its back panel has a QWERTY keypad and the STB hosts Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB connectivity options among others.

The Boxee Box is scheduled to hit the U.S. and Canada in November though the pricing is unclear for now.
