Equipped with an iPod cradle, the two home theater systems enables users to play music and video files from a connected device via a Digital Media Port. Further, the company’s DMPort Booster technology helps to deliver enhanced sound quality.

Both the high end systems upscale DVDs to near HD quality through the available HDMI cable by connecting to an HDTV set. The inclusion of Digital Cinema Auto Calibration, Portable Audio Enhancer and Dialogue Enhancer promises to offer optimal surround sound experience. They also claim to take full advantage of Sony’s S-AIR technology to transmit wireless audio up to 164 feet.

While the DAV-HDX589W system works on WAHT-SA10 S-AIR wireless rear speakers, the DAV-HDX587WC utilizes AIR-SA10 S-AIR multi-room listening station.
