Onkyo has officially introduced two 7.1 channel home theatre systems namely the HT-S700 and HT-S6200. They offer high-end AV processing and surround sound for advanced home theatre programming including HDTV and Blu-ray.
The Onkyo HT-S7200 and HT-S6200 have a host of attributes. They feature five and four HDMI 1.3a inputs and are compatible with 1080p HD. They include powerful AV receivers with 1080p compatible HDMI inputs, 130 watt-per-channel amplification, processing for every major audio format. They also have the option of including front height–channel reproduction with ProLogic IIz processing.
The HT-S7200 incorporates composite up scaling and composite video sources to 1080i, including Faroudja DCDi Edge deinterlacing which eliminates unwanted conversion artifacts. Every major surround format can be audio processed.
The HT-S7200 and HT-S6200 include seven glossy black speakers with a dynamic subwoofer for deep bass. The speaker system of the HT-S7200 boasts dual-drive tallboy front speakers. They consist of dual 3-1/4-inch woofers and 1-inch balanced dome tweeter. This speaker system is even available separately as the SKS-HT870 speaker package.
The HT-S6200 exhibits glossy bookshelf sized speakers with single 4-inch woofers and 1-inch balanced dome tweeter on the three front speakers and 3-1/4-inch full range speakers for the surrounds. Both the systems have a 230-watt bass reflex subwoofer with a 10-inch woofer and have deep bass sound effects.
These speakers also constitute of a trio of acoustic correction technologies namely Audyssey 2EQ room correction and calibration system, Audyssey Dynamic EQ, and Audyssey Dynamic Volume.
The HT-S7200 and HT-S6200 have Onkyo’s Universal Port which allows one-cable connection for the included UP-A1 iPod dock. This dock integrates audio and video playback from Apple iPhone or other portable iPod devices. The U-port connection also enables a one-cable connection to the optional HD-Radio tuner.
The Onkyo HT-S7200 and HT-S6200 are available at estimated prices of $899 (approx. Rs.43, 283) and $699 (approx.33, 650) each. The SKS-HT870 7.1-channel speaker package is also available at an estimated price of $499 (approx. Rs.24, 021).
