LG cuts Price, adds Features on BH200 Dual HD DVD Player

LG BH200 Dual HD DVD Player LG has launched an updated version of its high-definition BH100 dual HD DVD player that can support both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats, dubbed BH200.

A 16 percent price slash has been announced on the BH200 Super Blu HD DVD/Blu-ray Player, which is slated to be $999 (approx. Rs. 40,000). The price is still high compared to a stand-alone Blu-ray that costs $500 or HD DVD player, which sell for around $400.

BH100’s successor, the BG200 player features advanced BD-Java and HDi support, 080p output at 60Hz, 1080p upscaling of standard DVDs, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS and DTS-HD audio. It is also compatible with various A/V formats including MPEG-2, VC-1, H.264 video and MPEG1/2 audio.

LG also offers HDMI 1.3 out and a LAN Ethernet port for network interactivity.

The new LG BH200 Super Blu HD DVD/Blu-ray Player is expected to ship in mid-October.
