Sharp AQUOS T-Series LCD TVs, World’s First THX Certfied HDTV debuts

Sharp has launched its two latest AQUOS T-Series LCD HDTVs, claiming them to be the world’s first LDC TV with THX stamp. The new TVs are namely AQUOS models LV-65TH1 and LV-52TH1 in 65V” and 52V” screen sizes.

A new extra-large series of direct-view LCDs have received the THX Certified Display Program recognition for high definition displays that can be used in the darkest home theatres. However, the contrast at 2500:1 and brightness of 350cd/m2 are lower than the AQUOS R-series.

The specifications of the AQUOS T-Series LCD TVs include a Full HD 1080p ASV panel with 120Hz technology with three HDMI inputs, two FireWire ports and an Ethernet connection. It also offers an integrated set with a combined 15W in satellites backed by a 15W subwoofer.

The LV-65TH1 and the LV-52TH1 models will be available in Japan in September with prices of $12,000 (approx. Rs.483,100) and $6,873 (approx. Rs. 276,700), respectively.
