Datawind has announced the launch of the PocketSurfer2 handheld device in India.

Weighing 174g and measuring 152 x 75 x 15 mm, the ultra-slim handheld ensures its ability to offer original graphic intensity as that of the desktop web. Moreover, the PockeSurfer2 also works with Java-Script, Ajax, Frames and other complex web functionality.

The DataWind PocketSurfer2 features include a 640 pixel full-colour wide screen, metallic backlit QWERTY keyboard with strong tactile response, 6x larger keys and touchpad navigation.

Other than that, the PocketSurfer2 also sports a built-in GPS receiver for location-based services, Quad Band GPRS connectivity, internal high-performance antenna and mini-USB charging port.

Powered by rechargeable Lithium polymer battery, the handheld device provides an operational time of 4 hours and standby time of 4 days.

Distributed by HCL Infosystems across India, the Datawind PocketSurfer2 internet handheld device is available for Rs. 11,990.
