Creative apparently launches e-book reader Zii MediaBook

Creative seems to be throwing its hat in several places. As per EpiZenter, in their Annual General meeting, Creative supposedly astonished everybody by launching their e-book reader, tentatively called MediaBook. They are entering the e-book market for the first time. Reportedly, the e-book reader boasts of touchscreen, text-to-speech function and an SD memory card slot.
For a complete multimedia experience, supposedly Creative has also incorporated its Zii technology for internet connectivity. Creative wishes to be different from the crowded e-book market by offering more attributes as compared to the present e-readers.
Apparently, Creative is in discussion with 10 international and local publishers to supply content for the MediaBook. Some of the content that may be provided is fiction, newspaper, magazines, education materials and textbooks. One of the local content providers might be Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).
In addition to reading e-books and newspaper on the device, reportedly the users will also be able to access Facebook and Twitter, watch videos and view photos on the large touchscreen.
Details about the availability and cost of the e-book reader are currently not known.
