Datawind launches PocketSurfer2R Mobile Internet Device
Datawind launches the latest version of the PocketSurfer, dubbed PocketSurfer2R. The mobile internet device is small enough to slide in the pocket with ease.
“You can browse the web on a bus or a train, anywhere where you might have two or three minutes and you need to check on something,” commented Datawind UK head David Elder.
With PocketSurfer2R users can browse the web, check mails, chat on instant messaging and operate Google’s online applications.
The device features an integrated high-performance antenna, a mini USB charger and Lithium Polymer battery to offer 4 hours of continuous operation.
At just 174g, the pocket-sized clamshell internet device features a QWERTY keyboard and 640 x 240 resolution color screen which can be viewed, by opening the flip. It also shows off a touchpad, replacing the four-way navigation key. The other features include an in-built GPS with Google maps.
The PocketSurfer2R mobile internet device carries a price tag of £199 (approx. Rs. 12,982), allowing users to enjoy 20 hours/month of web access for a year. For unlimited access to internet, users can subscribe to £59.99 (approx. Rs. 3,914) fee scheme.
