HTC X9500 ‘Shangri-La’ – a UMPC Device unveiled

HTC Shangri-La High tech Computer has developed an ultra-mobile PC X9500, also known as Shangri-La. The handheld can run Windows Vista as well as Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system.

The HTC Shangri-La offers 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM to run Windows Mobile; additionally it will include a 1GB of RAM and a 30GB or 40GB hard drive for Windows Vista. Intel’s Dothan 800 MHz processor will also be integrated in the X9500.

The HTC’s UMPC features 7-inch 800-by-480-pixel touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. It will also include GSM phone functionality with GPRS and EDGE. The portable PC also provides Bluetooth 2.0, built-in webcam, and has a capacity to support 3G, wireless 802.11b/g connectivity.

Moreover, the handheld-cum-UMPC carries at least one USB port, an external monitor output, a miniSD slot, a GPS receiver, a fingerprint reader, and a 2800 mAh battery.

The price and the availability are yet to be revealed. However, HTC has released a data sheet on the Shangri-La.
