Pioneer tosses the AVIC-Z120BT navigation device on the route with PandoraLink

Almost all mobile phones and cars are integrated with GPS technology these days. Pioneer has revealed the launch of the AVIC-Z120BT GPS system for automobiles.The company asserts that this device is attributed with not just navigation facility but also a lot of entertainment and convenience alternatives. The unit has been integrated with the PandoraLink that displays on the screen and allows users to skip or save songs and change stations.

The device also incorporates MusicSphere that enables users to listen to music by creating playlists based on moods with a 3D animated sphere. The Eco Graph showcases the driver’s status reports and his impact with the environment with the help of visual graphics. Through Avic Feeds PC software, the device can calculate fuel costs of the vehicle as well as its CO2 emissions. It also displays 2D, 3D and divided map views.

“In 1994, Pioneer was the first company to bring in-car GPS to the U.S. market, and today we are continuing to advance the navigation category with the launch of our highly intuitive, flagship AVIC-Z120BT,” explained Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for the car electronics department, sales and marketing division of Pioneer Electronics. “Our team of designers and engineers devised this model to not only deliver reliable route guidance and high quality audio and video, but also to enable users to easily adapt their personal devices to their cars. And, now with its capability to deliver Pandora’s popular Internet music service, Pioneer again redefines the navigation category.”

The gadget promises to deliver high quality CD/DVD A/V playback. It is incorporated with a back-up camera input besides being compatible with the Sirius XM3 satellite and HD Radio. This gizmo has Tele Atlas software preloaded with maps that guides users with directions across the United States, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. It also embraces an enhanced voice recognition technology that allows users to feed in addresses by voice.

The dual zone entertainment pampers rear passengers by letting them have the pleasure of DVD video and audio on a dedicated rear display and headphones. At the same time front passengers can enjoy AM/FM or XM or Sirius satellite radio sources. The device also comes with RDS, Supertuner IIID, dual A/V inputs, 4-Volts preamp outputs and 7-band graphic EQ.

The AVIC-Z120BT features a 7-inch WVGA touchscreen, onscreen iPod/iPhone control, 3D graphics accelerator. It also includes a built-in Bluetooth that enables wireless music streaming and hands-free calling along with USB connectivity. The device has a SD card slot placed at the back of the motorized front panel. The unit can be fitted into a large number of vehicles. It has also been designed with more than 30,000 customizable illumination colors to match the lighting of the dash board of any car.

The AVIC-Z120BT is expected to be available from June. It is supposed to be priced at $1,599. (Approx. Rs. 76,187)
