Here is some good news for bikers who were struggling with inconvenience and doubts when it came to traveling anywhere with the long routes as Garmin and BMW team up to launch the BMW Navigator IV for motorcycle riders.
The newly announced BMW Navigator IV comes with unique features such as a customized mount for motorcycles, vibration and waterproofing (IEC 529 IPx-7 standards), and revised audio and Bluetooth features.
It features a new slim design and comes integrated with a 4.3 touchscreen display. The device features A2DP Bluetooth connectivity which facilitates remote listening to digital audio along with hands free calling from Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. It also offers turn-by-turn directions and lane assist features with lane guidance and junction view in order to make long routes traveling easier and convenient for users.
Other notable highlights include a friendly map display for the motorcyclist which has a large-key multiple-page keyboard enabling easier typing with gloves. The large glove-friendly zoom keys make the map more convenient and easy to read at the same time.
With its lane assist features, riders are provided with an adequate guidance and are advised whether there are multiple lanes or not and which lane to take. Overhead signs can also be viewed by users. They are also guided to specific junctions at the same time.
The Navigator IV provides information on fuel usage and the distance remaining. It also allows the reserve point to be customized for the motorcycle.
The device provides a custom routes menu which helps riders choose the option of the shortest route, the fastest route or an off-road route and thereby consuming less time.
The BMW Navigator IV along with MapSource DVD allows riders to plan their trips on or off bikes by merely completing trip planning functions from their PC. They can also transfer TrackLogs which can be saved as routes. Besides users can add points to their present routes and use avoidance functions in order to build routes and have a safe ride on their preferred roads.
The device is now available at BMW Motorcycle dealers in the U.S. It is priced at $900.17 which includes a BMW four-button mount cradle, a head unit, a carrying case, mount cover, AC chargers, USB cable and MapSource DVD.
