Garmin zumo 660 Motocycle Device for Bikers Launched at CES

Garmin zumo 660 Motocycle Device Garmin announced the availability of the zumo 660 navigator, at CES.

Featuring 4.3-inch sunlight readable and customizable touchscreen display, the sleek and glove-friendly designed zumo 660 enables motorcyclists to swipe fingers to left-handedly control the touchscreen buttons.

The rugged and waterproof (IEC 529 IPX-7 standards) navigation is pre-loaded with detailed, street-level maps of the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico with more than six million points of interest including gas stations, lodging, restaurants, attractions and more. Fore more convenience, the Garmin zumo 660 has the ability to speak street names with other information like turn-by-turn and voice prompted directions via an integrated speaker. Users need to wear a compatible Bluetooth helmet or headset (supporting Bluetooth Wireless Technology [A2DP]) for the same. Moreover, they can receive and make call over the unit by connecting Bluetooth-enabled phone.

Other than that, the navigator includes lane assist with junction view and the ability to provide multiple routing that guides riders to enter correct lane. It also displays some metropolitan buildings in a 3D transparent view.

The zumo 660 enables users to plan routes online through Google or MapQuest and send information to other zumo owners via the unit’s microSD card slot. For security purposes, it comes equipped with Garmin Lock – a theft prevention system.

The Garmin zumo 660 can be purchased in the first quarter of 2009 at a retail price of $799.99 (approx. Rs. 38,455).
