Clarion MAP680 and MAP780 GPS Systems Unleashed

Clarion has announced two new GPS units, namely MAP680 and MAP780. Both the devices have the ability to display 2D and 3D data on their 4.3-inch screens.

These personal navigation units also incorporate a photo viewer, video, MP3 player and RDS-TMC traffic tuner for the drivers’ enjoyment. Powered by a 400MHz CPU, both the GPS units have common features such as Bluetooth capability for hands-free calling, sending SMS messages and A2DP audio streaming.

Supporting SD/MMC card slot, these models can play several file formats that include AVI, WMV, 3GP and MP4. Consumers can also view slideshows of photos from the memory cards. In addition, they also offer 3D renderings of buildings and routes as well as a lane assistant function and text-to-speech function that have the ability to read out phonetically-correct street names.

While, the MAP680 GPS navigator has a built-in memory of 1GB and comes in four versions with pre-loaded regional maps of Europe, the MAP780 provides 2GB of storage space and software for 43 European countries.

Clarion has not yet announced the price and the shipping date of the MAP680 and MAP780 GPS systems.
