ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 Mobile GPS System gets FCC Nod

ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 Mobile GPS FCC has approved a new mobile GPS device, called the Navigation X-970 by ViaMichelin.

ViaMichelin can start selling this new GPS unit in the US and overseas as well now.

The Navigation X-970 comes equipped with a SiRF Star III type GPS chip and maps of the US and Canada, allowing users to locate the destination, search the directions or use it in free-flow mode to displays the current position on a map.

The device from ViaMichelin sports a touch-screen interface, RDS-TMC traffic info, SD card and battery that offer 3 hours of continuous life. The hands-free functionality for making calls kills the battery life. For that the company has provided a cigarette lighter charging cable.

The My ViaMichelin function enables owners to transfer the favorite addresses, routes and POIs from the official website of the company, www.ViaMichelin.com onto your X-970.

ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 GPS product comes packed with USB cable, ViaMichelin Navigation DVD, two car-mounting systems (windshield or dashboard use) and a manual.

ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 will be available in the UK at around £169 and £199 with TMC, whereas in Europe it will cost around £259.
