Delphi NAV300 GPS Navigation Unit launched

A month back, we had reported about the Delphi NAV300 being on its way. Now Delphi Corporation has officially announced the launch of the next generation portable GPS device, dubbed NAV300 that comprises of latest hardware and software technology. It seems it is an enhanced version of Delphi NAV200 GPS system, which was introduced in 2006.

Delphi NAV300 GPS unit NAV300 provides preloaded maps of continental U.S, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii and now also includes Puerto Rico. It even comes with NAVTEQ mapping database for driving directions, Text-to-Speech (TTS) functionality for knowing the street name, and turn-by-turn directions while navigating for maximum safety.

Through the My Favorite feature, the latest GPS unit can store favorite locations and assign voice commands. It provides easy access in searching locations by city, street and ZIP code via easy and intuitive interface. Furthermore, it can also display road signs and Speed limit warning directly on the device screen and gives optional traffic information via the RDS-TMC technology.

In addition, the NAV300 also comes equipped with a 3.5 inch screen, SIRFstarIII receiver, 32MB of Flash ROM, SD expansion slot and 64MB of RAM, Li-ion battery, 400MHz Samsung processor, calendar, games and a media player that can support MPEG4, WAV, MP3, AVI and XviD formats.

Delphi NAV300 also comes bundled with lifetime Clear Channel traffic and weather alerts. It has integrated microphone along with Bluetooth connectivity to control Bluetooth-equipped phones for hands-free calling.

The next-gen GPS device also features Points of Interest that enables the user to find dining, lodging and other leisure information faster through ZAGATSurvey guides.

Delphi’s NAV300 GPS navigation system is currently available in US for $399 (approx. Rs. 16,000). The lifetime traffic feature installation costs another $100.
