Nyko to endow Nintendo 3DS with new Charge Base and Power Pak+

Nyko 3DS Charge Base

Nyko Technologies previously graced the CES 2011 with a bunch of products that included Intercooler STS and Charge Base S for Xbox 360 along with motion-sensing PS3 and Wii accessories. The company now provides Nintendo 3DS owners with two new offerings entitled the Charge Base and Power Pak+. The gaming peripherals are touted to release alongside the Nintendo handheld system.

The first product namely Power Pak+ is noted to be a high capacity rechargeable battery pack fashioned exclusively for the forthcoming 3DS console. Thanks to this inclusion, gamers can enjoy double playtime as the pack provides double capacity and battery life. The debossed finger rests further extend gameplay as they deliver a comfortable grip.

“Every new console or game system launch is an opportunity for us to find ways to improve the user’s experience with the device through innovative technology,” stated Chris Arbogast, director of marketing, Nyko Technologies. “We are proud to be able to bring our robust knowledge of charging technology to the 3DS user base by providing users the ability to substantially increase their play time.”

Coming to the second offering, we see the Nyko Charge Base taking on the form of a drop-in charging and storage solution designed to exploit the portable handheld gaming device. This particular product is seen accompanied with the Power Pak+ rechargeable battery pack. The accessory also features an on/off switch as well as LED indicator lights for informing players on the status of the battery charge.

The new 3DS peripherals from Nyko utilize standard 3DS AC adapter. The Power Pak+ and Charge Base can be acquired for $19.99 (approx. Rs. 900) and $29.99 (approx. Rs. 1,350) respectively. Gamers can pick up the former on March 27, 2011 and the latter a week after the 3DS launch.
