The classic Space Invaders arcade game still runs chills down a gamer’s spine. The legendary game has entertained gaming enthusiasts for decades. Taito brings back life into the Space Invaders’ characters with the release of its series of applications for iPhone and iPod Touch, the Space Invaders Gizmos.
The series includes seven utility apps of a calculator, clock, timer, battery meter, flashlight, memory status checker, and business card application. The apps enable users to exchange and collect digital cards or calculate animatedly on the gimmick filled calculator and much more.
Space Invaders Business cards can be completely customized by users to add their contact information as well as a homepage link, Twitter account or more. These business cards can be transferred to others by physically ‘sliding’ them from one touchscreen to another via a Bluetooth connection. This particular app is also compatible with the iPad.
The Space Invaders Calculator (Free) is built with hidden Space Invaders-themed gimmicks and game sound effects which are played when there is a calculation result related to special numbers associated with the classic arcade game. A modified version of the calculator is also available for an additional fee. Space Invaders Battery Meter is bedecked in cool Space Invaders design and displays battery power and usage time of the device.
Other utility apps like Space Invaders Memory Status provides users with updated information about how much of the device’s memory is in use. The Flashlight can be used to light up dark spaces with radiant Space Invaders characters. Occasional appearances of a familiar enemy are displayed with the Space Invaders Clock. The Timer counts the minutes and seconds pre-set in the style of the retro arcade game.
The Space Invaders utility applications are free and now available for iPhone and iPod Touch users.
