Resident Evil 4 makes its way onto the iPhone and iPod Touch

Resident Evil 4 first caught the fright and fancy of gamers all over the globe early 2005 as it unfurled for the PS2 and GameCube gaming platforms. Now iPhone and iPod touch users can also feel a chill up their spine as Capcom releases bite sized bits of Resident Evil 4 onto the two portable devices.

The game is titled Resident Evil 4: For Beginners and is set to provide gamers with the first two chapters of Resident Evil 4 and a new tutorial level. There is also a new ‘Beginner’ difficulty setting as well as three mercenary missions and a new ‘shooting gallery’ mini game. All these inclusions are set to get the pulse racing while indulging in gameplay. Players can get their hands on the other chapters in the form of downloadable content. Those who already have the complete game can get the newly added features as a new update.

The mobile version of the Resident Evil installment comes with intuitive context sensitive Multi-Touch controls and also offers high-resolution 3D graphics. Through the new location based damage system, players can deal some serious damage. They can either shoot enemies in their leg or hit them with a direct head shot for an instant kill. Complex actions can be carried out via the context sensitive controls that emerge during gameplay. This allows gamers to equip binoculars, climb ladders and jump out windows with a simple touch.

The chilling story begins six years after the complete devastation of Raccoon City. Leon S. Kennedy who is an U.S. agent is out on a mission to save the President’s daughter Ashley Graham. His leads take him to a Spanish-speaking village located in Europe where he must fend off against savage inhabitants. These villagers are noted to be associated with the Los Illuminados cult which is also responsible for kidnapping of the President’s daughter.

Resident Evil 4: For Beginners is now out on the App Store for a price of just $.99 (approx. Rs.46).
