Spiel and Maruti launch The Sealink game for iPhone

The marvel of the Sea Link has now been incorporated in a mobile game. Spiel Studios in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch of its latest iPhone game known as ‘The Sealink’. The game is a 3D racing game which features cars from India’s premier car company Maruti. Through this mobile game Indian cars are apparently for the first time, being put on the global map.

The Sealink, allows players to choose their favorite car and race it on the Mumbai Bandra-Worli Sealink. The game has been conceived by Spiel Studios with valuable inputs from its global team-mates. Also, it makes use of the most recent and advanced technology available on the iPhone platform.

On the eve of its launch, CEO and founder, Spiel Studios, Mohit Sureka said that, “This is a very important milestone for the gaming and marketing industry, where-in a mainstream brand will be visible in an iPhone game. This will be for the first time when Indian cars will be available to play in a game! A lot of credit for this should be given to the Maruti Suzuki marketing team who found it important to have their brand presence on new upcoming technologies in order to connect with the young audience.”

Chief General Manager Maruti Suzuki, Shashank Srivastava mentioned that, “The Indian consumer is getting younger and gadgets are becoming integral part of life. Today cell phones are not only telephony devices but one stop gadget which provides connectivity, convenience & entertainment and hence opportunity for us to make people experience our products virtually at their convenience.”

The game will sport officially licensed Maruti cars like A Star, Swift, Dzire, SX4 and Grand Vitara. The performance, handling and acceleration of these cars will differ depending on the actual car’s specifications. Spiel Studios has pimped these rides to suit the fast and furious kind of racing theme.

The game has been launched on the iPhone via Apple’s iTunes Store all over the world. Simultaneously, the game has been made available for the iPod touch and iPad users can enjoy the game following the release in mid-April. The game is next scheduled for release on PC/Mac and Sony PSP and PS2 as well. The game can be downloaded from iTunes.com.
