Speedlink rolls out contact free charger for Wii

Speedlink plans to offer a complete charging solution for Wii owners with the introduction of the Contact-Free chargers. Wii owners who face cable connection problems while charging their Wiimotes will surely appreciate the company’s efforts. This charger promises to keep up the users’ high sprits by ensuring that the Wiimotes are always fully charged when they are in a mood to play.
The Contact-Free charger produces an induction field around the Wiimotes to charge them. This eliminates the need to connect wires. Moreover, the induction field is effective even when the Wiimotes are switched off. The charger is capable of charging two Wiimotes or battery packs at the same time. The Silicone skins, better known as the Nunchuks and the MotioPlus accessories do not hinder the charging process.
One has to replace the standard batteries in the Wiimotes with the battery packs to use this charger. The contact free charger incorporates two LED lights in red and blue colors to indicate the charging status. The red LED indicates that the Wiimotes are being charged while the blue LED states that the Wiimotes are fully charged.
The supplied T cable connects this charger between the AC adapter and the Wii console. This setup enables users to charge the Wiimotes even when the console is turned off. The Contact-Free charger automatically cuts out the power supply after six hours to avoid overcharging. The Wiimote battery pack takes approximately four hours to charge and provides around 20 hours of gaming time.
The cool and convenient contact-free charger is now available for a price of €39.99 (approx. Rs. 1,935) via retail outlets.
