Nintendo releases the eagerly awaited Nintendo DSi in the US tomorrow. This popular hand-held game comes in shades of blue or black and allows gamers to customize photos and audio files. Also releasing tomorrow is the Nintendo DSi Shop.

Nintendo DSi consists of two built-in cameras where one points at users while the other one is faced away from them. This feature allows customers to manipulate the photos captured. With the help of 10 built-in lenses, users can use effects like Distortion, Graffiti and Mischief to creatively change the pictures. These pictures can then be shared with friends and family wirelessly.

The Nintendo DSi also allows users to manipulate music files to their fancy. They can put an interesting twist on AAC sound files acquired from the SD card. Customers can easily change the playback speed or pitch of audio clips to produce a very different sound altogether. The files manipulated by the users do not get saved.

Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing said, “The concept of entertainment is clearly expanding to enable self-expression and creation in ways never before possible. Nintendo DSi is loaded with software to help people do exactly that. It’s not just about the cameras or audio playback, but what people can do with these features that makes Nintendo DSi such an enjoyable game system.”

The Nintendo DSi Shop launched by Nintendo is the latest online store where gaming fans can redeem their Nintendo DSi Points earned. In return, they achieve a host of downloadable games and applications from the Shop. The Nintendo DSi Browser can be acquired for free from the online store. This application powered by Opera lets the customer avail of intuitive and fast Web browsing.

According to Nintendo, loads of fun content can be found online and 1,000 Nintendo DSi Points are promised to gamers who connect their Nintendo DSi to the DSi Shop by Oct 5, 2009. Software available at the Nintendo DSi Shop is ranged at different price points of free, 200, 500 and 800+ points. Additional Nintendo DSi Points can be brought from the DSi shop itself or through Nintendo Points Card purchasable from retail stores.

Nintendo also features a new application known as Nintendo DSiWare. This application is the users’ gateway to various hand-held games from different studios and genres. Tomorrow, along with the release of the Nintendo DSi, five new DSiWare titles will also be available to gamers.

WarioWare Snapped allows users to access time-challenging mini-games and to view Wario’s photo album with the DSi camera. Bird and Beans lets the gamers move a plastic tongue in order to collect falling beans. More points are given depending on how hard it is to catch a bean. Brain Age Express: Math enables users to access a mixture of old and new training exercises. With the new themes mode, customers of the Nintendo DSi can play around with images and audio files.

Master of Illusion Express: Funny Face uses the Nintendo DSi as a prop in the magic trick. The face drawn on the touchscreen by the users tells the audience what card they choose. Art Style: Aquia lets players match a series of colored blocks in order to help a scuba diver reach the ocean bed.

The Nintendo DSi will be available tomorrow in the US for a price of $169.99 (approx. Rs.8,488).
