On the eve of the Mobile Gaming Forum, mobile games publisher and developer – Jump Games has made known that it is now welcoming business in Europe. But what most of you would be excited to know is that the company has gotten into an exclusive global alliance with (hold your breath!) Manchester United Football Club to design, develop and distribute mobile games. In addition, Reliance’s gaming arm also announced that six Manchester United mobile games will be developed during 2008.

The European release and global announcement of ‘Official Mobile Games Partner of Manchester United’ was held at London. A video message by Sir Alex Ferguson was relayed, where he said, “Manchester United, all of us, are delighted in our new arrangement with Jump Games. I think it’s a fantastic venture. And to all our fans all over the world it’s an opportunity to get yourselves involved in it.”

The first of the six Manchester United mobile games is called “Manchester United Word It!”. This title will be available via all leading operators worldwide.

The event also had 1990 World Cup central defender and ex-Manchester United player Paul Parker making a presentation.

An excited Salil Bhargava, who is the CEO of Jump Games, said: “We’re pleased to be moving into a new phase for the business at a time when so much interest is focused on the mobile platform and its development beyond voice revenues. Our experience in creating and distributing quality content in one of the fastest-growing, yet cost-savvy mobile societies in the world puts us in a great position to help brands launch new and exciting content to entertainment-hungry consumers of mobile content in Europe and globally. Our association with Manchester United is the ideal platform for us to further strengthen our offerings and reach out to a much larger set of audiences worldwide.”

Speaking about the association with Jump Games, MUmobile Manager, Mike Dunphy stated, “Working with Jump Games, a leading games developer in the mobile space, will mean that fans will be able to extend their experience of Manchester United, increasing their knowledge and enjoyment of the brand, wherever they are in the world.”

There will be six games, including Manchester United Word It!, which will be available in Europe in 2008. The first title will cost anything between 3-5 Euros and around 3 UK Pounds. These prices are excluding the network charges.
