Konami to release four new titles for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Konami Digital Entertainment has revealed plans to introduce four new titles for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Titles include Metal Gear Solid Touch, DanceDanceRevolution S Lite, Silent Hill The Escape and Frogger.

Earlier this month, the Japanese publisher and developer had unveiled teasers of the Metal Gear. Well the official announcement explains it now.

Speaking of the games Metal Gear Solid Touch is an original game that makes alive the world and characters of Mtal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots (MGS4). Users can either move their alignment or switch to the zoom mode. The touch panel will also give gamers direct control of the game. The title’s initial download will comprise of 8 stages with each stage’s location and characters based on the story of MGS4. While gamers can add stages later on, the game also lets players unlock images and wallpapers from the Metal Gear series on completing stages.

DanceDanceRevolution S Lite is a music-based game. It lets players use the iPhone and iPod Touch to the best of its ability. The gameplay needs users need to tap the arrow icons appearing at the bottom of the screen in time with music.

A first-person 3D shooting game, Silent Hill The Escape lets players use the control features only found on the iPhone and iPod Touch. These include moving the character by sliding a finger across the touch panel screen and changing alignment to target enemies using the built-in altimeter.

A rather simple game, Frogger involves a frog. All the player has to do is move the frog 360 degrees to help it cross roads and rivers while staying away from obstacles.

Metal Gear Solid Touch should be available around spring 2009 in Japan, North America and Europe. The remaining three titles should be available by end of December 2008. While Frogger and Silent Hill The Escape will hit stores in Japan, North America and Europe, DanceDanceRevolution S Lite will be available only in Japan, North America.
