Sony and Skype Partner for PSP Calling

Recently, we reported on Sony’s plan to offer Skype calling on PSP. Now, Sony has officially announced that it has joined hands with Skype, the instant message and Internet voice platform owned by eBay, to provide Skype’s online communication service onto Play Station Portable.
Owners of the latest slim PSP-200 can now make low-cost telephone calls around the world, free calls and chat through instant messaging to other Skype users, by using the Internet. The device has updated its software and incorporated Skype’s 260 million-member network.
This handheld game also comes with a memory stick, a wireless Internet connection and Skype-compatible audio input device. In September, Sony had introduced PSP-200 in 33% lighter and 19% slimmer version, as compared to the original PlayStation Portable models.
However, both the companies haven’t disclosed any special fee structure for PSP users.
