Recently Microsoft announced a cheaper model of theXbox 360 in the Japanese market. Now, there’s news about a price cut in an add-on.
Microsoft has slashed the price of the Xbox 360 HD DVD player to $129.99 (approx. Rs. 5,200) from $179.99. At present, it will only be available in US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In addition, as before buyers will get 5 free movies HD DVD through mail-in rebate, thanks to Toshiba.
This move is a response to the consumers’ demand during fourth quarter of 2007. And it might also want to speed up on their sales to compete with the Blu-ray format. At the same time, the company commented that they are not confined to the HD DVD market and can perhaps adopt the Blu-ray format in the future.
