Sony PS3 sales races ahead than Wii in Japan

Sony PS3 It’s been a long journey where the Wii used to rule the gaming market and was outselling PS3. This time, Sony’s PS3 has got an amazing birthday gift for its 1st Happy Birthday by outselling Wii in the Japanese hardware sales chart from Media Create. The company experienced a 38 percent more sale for the week.

On 11th November, the new PS3 model launched in Japan that comes with fewer USB ports, a 40GB hard drive, no backward compatibility, a cheaper price tag of 39,980 yen (approx $341), and a new colour–ceramic white.

For the first time, PS3 sells more consoles than Nintendo Wii. Sony’s PS3 sold 55,924 units last week, whereas Wii sold 34,546. Besides, DS Lite sold 78,854 and the PlayStation Portable reached a target of 58,964. The PlayStation 2, with 9,043 units, and the Xbox 360 with 5,817 units.

However, Xbox 360 outsold PS3 in Japan the previous week.

    I think you might have gotten your chart a little off. That’s 159,193 to 183, 217. As such the bars should not be so far apart. The margin isn’t anywhere near where you illustrate it to be.

    Wii was never going to last long because it only appeals to casual gamers and nintendo fans.
