Sony always believes in updating their Play Station 3 console. Previously, the ability to play Blu-ray Discs was the truly amazing feature in the next generation console. Now, PS3 has integrated DivX video technology.
At present, DivX Inc. is working to certify that PS3 will have the capacity to offer superior digital media technology to gamers. Owners of PS3 console need a separate system software to add DivX functionality into the device.
Kevin Hell, CEO of DivX, Inc, remarked, “We are excited to work with Sony Computer Entertainment to bring DivX to PS3. Our technology will expand the multimedia functionality of PS3 by enabling users to enjoy access to the broad library of content in the DivX digital media format.”
It is said that DivX-enabled products have undergone testing program to make sure of the reliable playback and excellent visual quality. Moreover, developers who make games for the PS3 will be able to make use of DivX’s decoder.
