Asus introduces the U6V Bamboo Series Notebook in India
Today, Asus launched the latest addition to its array of laptops in India. The company unveiled an environmental friendly and nature oriented device known as the U6V Bamboo series notebook at an event in Mumbai. This laptop sports a casing made with authentic bamboo instead of plain cold steel.
The Bamboo series notebook is based on the Green Computing technology. The bamboo casing brings customers closer to nature and exceeds the RoHS and WEEE standards. The serene feeling of nature comes alive with the stylish bamboo design. The notebook is a perfect example of nature meeting technology and the result of this unification delivers good computing experience to users.
The Bamboo series notebook weighs just around 1.57 kg making it easy to carry while on the move. The laptop is also eco-friendly yet energy efficient as it includes the Super Hybrid Engine. This allows the device to bring down the carbon dioxide emission by 12.3kg per year. The laptop incorporates environmental friendly components right from its creation to recycling and disposal.
The U6V Bamboo series notebook exhibits excellent craftsmanship with its Moso bamboo paneling. Besides the cover of the laptop sporting this material, the touch pad also has real bamboo fiber patterns. Each laptop in the Bamboo series has its own unique pattern. To further personalize the cover of the Bamboo series notebook, users can engrave different designs of their choice by laser etching. Many treatments can be utilized on the laptop to achieve the desired color.
The Super Hybrid Engine located within the Bamboo series notebook saves energy as it has the ability to extend the battery life between 35% and 70%. While saving up on the energy, the laptop also delivers high performance to its users. The notebook determines and adjusts the power supplied depending upon the consumption needs of the components. It also includes a variety of presets which allow customers to choose their own usage needs. The bamboo laptop incorporates a built-in camera of 1.3 megapixels with the Asus SmartLogon and LED light features.

The Bamboo series notebook comprises of an Intel Core2 Duo Processor P8600 with Mobile Intel PM45 express chipset and Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100. The laptop has an OS of Windows Vista Genuine Home Premium. For file storage purposes, this notebook has Nvidia GeForce 9300M Gs with TAG RAM of up to 1536MB. The HDD of the Bamboo series notebook consists of DDR2 800MHz and 2 x SODIMM of up to 4GB. There is also SATA HDD of up to 320G/5400rpm and an 8-in-1 ultra-slim card reader. The device offers features like Fingerprint and TPM module.
The U6V Bamboo series notebook comes with a 2 year global warranty and 1 year warranty on battery. At the press conference, Stanley Wu quoted a price of Rs.1,10,000 for this eco-friendly laptop. This bamboo-designed notebook is available via Rashi peripherals.
