While the Samsung Surface is limited to 40 inches, the HP VantagePoint goes a step ahead as it offers a multi-touch real estate spanning 132 inches. The high resolution interactive wall can lend support to about 32 touch points simultaneously and should prove to be of help in industries like showrooms, financial services, retail, airlines and more.

The 11 x 7 feet touch wall comprises six LD4730G 47-inch ultra-micro bezel displays arranged in 3 x 2 grid and is deployed with an infrared based touch technology that recognizes interaction with the screen. In addition to the Z800 Workstation to handle image and video processing, the touch wall features the HP Pavilion Slimline PC to adjust volume and color contrast. Based on the Windows 7 platform, it works with minimal setup and maintenance.

“HP is a pioneer in immersive technologies that enhance the way people communicate, collaborate, socialize and entertain. With HP VantagePoint, we have developed a virtual display featuring a 40.5-square-foot application canvas that transforms the way businesses engage with customers,” quoted Carlos Montalvo, vice president, Innovation Program Office, HP.

The ultra-high resolution of 4098 x 1536 pixels should support next generation high definition content as well. This commercial display is reinforced with the Corning Gorilla Glass for a greater durability. Also, the virtual pixels under the bezels eliminate the irregularities from the projected image. The Photo Engine from HP lets users view both 2D as well as 3D digital content on the huge 132-inch display.

The 132-inch HP VantagePoint price is $125 (approx. Rs. 63,39,220). It is now available in the U.S. and Canada.
