There are many tablets and portable devices out in the market that indulge in stiff competition with each other. Now Toshiba seems to want a piece of that action by enticing tech enthusiasts with a brand new tablet that is apparently powered by Android 3.0 Honeycomb. A teaser website dedicated to the device is now launched by the company. Previously, only CES 2011 attendees were among the privileged few to have an early feel of the offering.

The new 10.1-inch multi touchscreen tablet offers a 1280 x 800 720p resolution as well as ambient light sensors for amending the brightness of the screen. It is slated to release with a varied choice of slip-resistant EasyGrip in different hues. Owners can expect enhanced color and image quality for viewing both standard as well as high definition video. There are two speakers located on the ears of the device that resound with SRS audio enhancements for surround sound.

Android quick-key buttons for home, menu, back and search are located on the front of the device. Under the hood is a complete suite of sensors such as a compass, GPS and motion sensors as well as dual-core CPU with built-in Nvidia 1080p video processor. Other features include microphone, headphone, mini-USB, USB 2.0 and HDMI ports as well as a SD card slot. Video chatting is also possible with the 2 megapixel front-facing web camera. Another 5 megapixel rear camera is provided for capturing pictures and video.

Packed with a treasure chest full of impressive features, the Toshiba Tablet is scheduled to release this spring as per the official website. For now although, the company has kept its availability date and pricing under wraps.
