Neonode to supply Asus devices with zForce touchscreen solutions
As far as HMI developments go, touchscreens seem to be the most viable advancement for the present. The latest is that Neonode and AsusTek have join hands over an agreement to create a line of products featuring the former company’s zForce optical touchscreens.
zForce, Neonode’s touch technology for mobile devices, is touted to be relatively more cost effective than current high performance solutions out in the market. It rubs along well with high resolution pen writing blended with finger navigation such as gestures, multi-touch, sweeps and more. It also happens to be operable with newer reflective display panels.
“I’m very proud to announce an agreement with a leading global company like AsusTeK. I firmly believe that the combination of our low cost high-performing touch screen and the outstanding know-how and experience of AsusTeK will make this a win-win for both AsusTeK and Neonode,” remarked Thomas Eriksson, CEO of Neonode, while talking about this new deal.
The optical touch screen solutions provider has even inked deals with other OEMs like Sony over this technology. Apparently, zForce is presently being incorporated into a range of portable gadgets like eReaders, mobile phones, printer products, slates and automotive applications among others.
Word is that the first Asus products employing zForce are slated for launch within this year itself.
