SRS Labs signs agreement with Westinghouse Digital for 2012 LED TV line

SRS Labs

SRS Labs recently revealed that it has signed an expanded licensing agreement with Westinghouse Digital for extending its LED TV lineup of 2012. The audio technology company will be endowing the American LCD TV manufacturer a series of SRS sound enhancement technologies which will include SRS TruSurround HD, TruSurround XT and TruVolume.

According to the two companies, there exist numerous new slim designs for soundbars, notebooks, media tablets, smartphones and flat-panel TVs in the market. These devices often take the place of built-in high performance speakers. SRS Labs aims to change this scenario through this deal which will commence operation from next year.

John Araki, SVP Product Development at Westinghouse Digital, stated, “Westinghouse Digital is dedicated to designing products that are not only affordable, but feature some of the industry’s most advanced technologies. To be successful in today’s competitive TV market, it is critical to pay attention to what features consumers are asking for and, at Westinghouse, we believe that most customers look for both top quality video and audio performance when comparing features amongst different TV brands. Accordingly, both our marketing and engineering teams unanimously turned to SRS Labs, the industry’s most popular provider of high-performance audio technologies, in order to make sure our TVs meet or beat consumers’ expectations when it comes to great audio.”

Westinghouse Digital’s LED TV range will apparently receive a huge boost by employing SRS Labs’ patented audio technologies and working with its engineering team who have custom tuned each model. The partnership will reportedly help in delivering an advanced, rich and natural sounding audio experience to consumer electronics manufacturers for incorporating in their products.
