NEC MultiSync P241W And P241W-BK-SV Desktop MonitorsThe 24-inch widescreen MultiSync P241W and P241W-BK-SV desktop monitors have officially been declared by NEC. While the former is supposed to be suitable for web graphics and photography applications, the latter provides an internal 14-bit 3D programmable lookup tables (LUTs), DisplayPort connectivity and a built-in USB hub.

Employing an e-IPS panel for delivering seemingly superior imaging performance, the P241W-BK-SV features hardware color calibration using the NEC SpectraView kit. This kit offers detailed coloring in an easy to use, cost-efficient package and is capable of operating with both Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It comprises an optimized calibration sensor based on the X-Rite Eye-One Display2 and SpectraView II calibration software.

Art Marshall, Product Manager for Professional and Medical Displays at NEC Display Solutions states, “The new MultiSync P Series combines reliable, accurate screen performance with all the cutting-edge technology included in the MultiSync PA Series at a budget-friendly price. One of the more unique features of the P241W is the ability to utilize two computers simultaneously through DisplaySync Pro and the integrated USB hub, which functions as a KVM device. This capability is invaluable to graphics professionals, and we’re excited to introduce this feature into the MultiSync P Series.”

The P241W monitor lets users work in color-critical environments and has a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1. Its widescreen real estate, USB hub with DisplaySync Pro and customizable Picture Modes are said to enhance users’ productivity. This sRGB monitor comes with a host of features like ICC Profile Emulation for faster access to alternate color spaces, DisplayPort, VGA and two DVI-D inputs.

This device possesses Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture capabilities for allowing two video signals to be viewed at the same time in a secondary window configuration and incorporates 60cd/m² typical brightness. Furthermore, it wraps in a 1920 x 1200 native resolution integrated with the Color Vision Emulation feature that enables real-time preview of Type P/D/T color vision deficiencies in support of Color Universal Design.

The MultiSync P241W desktop monitor priced at $749 (approx. Rs. 34,472) is accompanied by a 4-year limited parts and labor warranty with 48-hour Advanced Exchange and will commence shipping soon.
