Samsung BX235001 Display

Just about a weak ago we reported about Acer having released the MO series of full HD monitors. It’s now time to welcome Samsung’s latest 50 series of back-lit LED displays. The line up includes the BX2050, BX2250, BX2350 and BX2450 variants of screens which are designed to exhibit top-flight image quality. The ultra-thin screens measure about 19mm.

The 20” BX2050 monitor exhibits a response time of about 5ms and a resolution of about 1600 x 900p. The exterior of this model is fitted with a VGA and a DVI-D input. The BX2250, BX2350 and BX2450 measure 21.5”, 23” and 24” respectively. These screens flaunts a response time of about 2ms GTG. Apart from exhibiting a resolution of 1920 x 1080p, the displays are embedded with a VGA, an audio output and two HDMI inputs.

“The 50 Series LED monitors redefine what a desktop display should deliver to users,” affirmed Young Bae, director of display marketing Samsung Information Technology Division. “Samsung created this family with the complete user experience in mind.” “These monitors deliver top-quality images and, with a slim 19mm profile, elegant housing and sophisticated Touch of Color gray bezel, are just as attractive on the eye when turned off.”

The screens display a Mega dynamic contrast ratio and a static contrast ratio amounting to 1000:1. Each of the screens delivers a high image quality with sRGB color gamut of more than 95% as well as a horizontal viewing angle of about 170°. The integrated Magic Angle technology maintains full contrast and color depth of the images irrespective of the angle in which they are being viewed.

“Samsung has also incorporated a range of design features to reduce energy consumption and make the monitors fully recyclable. This ensures that the 50 Series’ footprint on the environment is as small as on the user’s desktop,” added Bae.

Additionally, the line of offerings is attributed with the ToC technology and adorns a wave pattern back as well as a chrome-plated boomerang stand. The functions of the displays are controlled by starlight touch buttons. The screens are designed to consume lesser energy than other monitors in their category. This eco-friendly, recyclable series does not contain mercury, halogens or volatile organic compounds. It has been gratified with the Energy Star 5.0 rating.

The 50 series of monitors are expected to arrive in July this year. The BX2050 is priced at around $229 (approx. Rs. 10,630) and the BX2250 at about $269 (approx. Rs. 12,490). The BX2350 and BX2450 can be picked up for $329 (approx. Rs. 15,270) and $359 (approx. Rs. 16,670), respectively.
