Sony flashes out six new digital photo frames

Gone are the days where photo frames only displayed one single picture printed on paper. With technology slowly advancing, many companies are unveiling new digital photo frames complete with innovative features. Now Sony unleashes its season’s latest collection with not just one but six digital photo frames. These offerings are coupled into a series dubbed as the S-Frame and are set to portray a great combination of dazzling photos and sophisticated appearances.
The varied range is topped with the S-Frame X85 and X95 that comes complete with a large memory capacity of 2GB which has the capability to hold 4,000 images in Album mode as well as easy-to-use features. The X85 sports a 20.3cm WVGA 16:10 Clear Photo LCD with TruBlack screen technology which is a specialty of the company.
The S-Frame X95 also contains the TruBlack technology but boasts of a larger 22.9cm WVGA panel size. Pictures and content can be easily displayed on the frames by either inserting the camera’s memory card into the device or connecting the frame to the computer through a USB. These models can also display large image files up to 48 megapixels.
All these Sony digital frames include a smart orientation sensor which automatically rotates the pictures correctly in portrait or landscape position. The X85/95 and D85 comprise of an illuminated Sony logo which automatically disappears when the device is in portrait position. There is also an Auto dimmer function embedded in the X series models which helps save power.
The latest Sony frames also include simple picture sort functions which allow users to view images by event and date, image orientation, folder or user tags. The slideshow and other display functions can be controlled with the aid of a handy remote which also comes supplied with the devices. The E75 and E73 come complete with three interchangeable colored bezels namely black/red/brown or beige/ moss green/white colorways.
The new DPF-D85 and DPF-X85/95 S-Frame digital photo frames are scheduled to hit stores from March and June 2010 respectively while the DPF-A73 and DPF-E73 are expected to unveil by May this year. The exact pricing details are not yet divulged by the company.
