Kodak flaunts Pulse digital photo frame

Some might agree that digital frames may just be on their way to ousting traditional photo frames in future. After Casio and ViewSonic, its Kodak’s turn to unmask their Pulse digital photo frame with a touchscreen interface and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The frame flaunts a 7” display that renders 800 x 600p resolutions and features LED backlighting as also the company’s proprietary Color Science technology. Its embedded Wi-Fi capability and personal e-mail address lets users add photos wirelessly from their PC, Facebook accounts or Kodak Gallery sites.
“Kodak believes sharing pictures should be simple, not a chore. Picture this: you live on the east coast. Your parents live on the west coast. You just had a baby, so you give your parents a Pulse Frame to ensure that they can share in every moment of your child’s life. You can send pictures by email from your smartphone or even through Facebook or Kodak Gallery,” affirmed John Blake, General Manager, Digital Capture and Devices and VP, Kodak.
The Pulse has 512MB of internal memory that can store about 4000 photos. It is relatively easy to set up with no required software installations. The intuitive touchscreen user interface facilitates easy interaction with photos. The device is powered by an Energy Star ratified power adapter with mercury free panel and programmable on/off settings.
“With the Pulse Frame, you always have something to look forward to as the frame refreshes with new pictures. Now, picture this: Remember your high school prom picture? The one with the big hair? Well, your best friend just uploaded it to her Facebook photo album and now it’s on your own Pulse Frame!” continued Blake.
Kodak’s Pulse digital photo frame will hit shelves across the U.S. in April 2010 at $129.99 (approx. Rs.5,930).
