Apple may have received mixed reactions for the iPad but this hasn’t stopped consumers from purchasing this dainty device. The most recent sale figures from the company reveal that it has marked a milestone by selling 2 million iPads in less than 60 days since its launch on April 3. This past weekend the Apple has begun shipping the iPad to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Apple intends to dispatch it to nine more countries in July and additional countries later this year.

The iPad is one more of the ingenious devices created by Apple which helps in personalizing the gadget for its users. Thus, the augmenting sales portray that the iPad has accomplished in satisfying the consumers’ needs to connect with their apps, content and the Internet in a more personalized, innate and amusing manner than ever before.

“Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We appreciate their patience, and are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”

It is said to fulfill both work and entertainment needs of the user. The user can browse the web, read and send emails while simultaneously enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read e-books and much more, all using iPad’s innovative Multi-Touch user interface. The iPad is slimmer and lighter than any laptop or netbook since its just 0.5 inches thin and weighs only 1.5 pounds. However, while losing out on the size of the laptop it by no means loses out on its effectiveness by delivering up to 10 hours of battery life.

About 5,000 exciting new apps have been created by developers for the iPad that take advantage of its Multi-Touch user interface, large screen and high-quality graphics. The iPad will run most of apps from the 2,00,000 apps made available at the App Store, including apps already purchased by the customer for their iPhone or iPod touch. Apple is set to revolutionize the future of mobile media and computing devices with the integration of both in the iPad.
