Looqs releases MeeFrame digital photo frame

Digital cameras are as popular as ever nowadays. A lot of photos that are clicked and transferred to PCs tend to remain just there. Looqs has delivered a digital photo frame dubbed MeeFrame that boasts of a full touchscreen UI as well as Wi-Fi connectivity.
The frame flaunts an eight inch touchscreen that allows users to view photos stored on a USB drive, SD/MMC-card or even within the 1GB of internal memory. Photos posted to user accounts on Picasa, Flickr or MeeFrame.com may also be displayed on this frame via its IEEE 802.11b/g internet connectivity. MeeFrame.com allows users to store, edit, organize and send photos to other MeeFrames.
“Now that all of our photos are digitalized, they are stored on our computers and we don’t do anything with them. With MeeFrame we bring back the photo experience of the past,” remarked Pieter Havermans, product manager, Looqs. “Plus we added some fantastic interactive tools to make it more fun.”
Besides being capable of rousing owners with their favorite songs as part of the alarm function, the frame also incorporates a digital music player, reader for real-time news and Shoutcast internet radio stations. Currently, the device offers support for eight languages comprising o English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Greek.
While pricing details haven’t received a clear mention as yet, Looqs is expected to exhibit their MeeFrame at the CES in January 2010
