Sony unveils Danielle Steel Limited Edition Reader
People who love reading have many options to keep themselves in the loop, by reading either a hard-copy or an electronic book of the novel. With the advent of an e-book reader, book-lovers can even read favorites novels and their volumes on this revolutionary device.
Sony has joined the brigade and introduced a special version reader, dubbed the Danielle Steel Limited Edition Reader Digital Book.
It is said to be the company’s same second-generation reader, however it has a totally niche focus with a promo code to download several of Danielle’s books that include Sisters, Bungalow 2 and Echoes. With the portable reader, Sony offers a letter from Danielle Steel and a custom embossed Danielle Steel book cover.
There are about 160 books in the device that can be expanded with the available memory card slot. Users can even purchase more tiles from the eBooks store.
Supporting Adobe PDF10, RTF, TXT, BBeB and Microsoft Word formats, the limited edition e-paper device enables users to continuously turn up to 7,500 pages without a strain in their eyes due to the incorporation of the E Ink technology for an amazing paper-like display.
Measuring 6.9″ x 4.8″ x 0.3″ and weighing about 9 ounces, the Danielle Steel-dedicated digital book reader sports a 6-inch screen, a near 180º viewing angle, an internal memory of 256 MB, 128MB of RAM, 800MHz Intel Celeron class processor and USB port. Users can view images (JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP file formats) and play audio (MP3 and AAC) as well.
Supporting internet connection, they search, browse, discover and access over 500,000 free public domain titles from Google in addition to the company’s store.
The Sony Danielle Steel Limited Edition Reader carries the same price as that of the standard version – $279.99 (approx. Rs. 13,785).
