Samsung rolls out SP-P140 LED projector

Samsung SP-P410 Pocket Projector

Samsung has decided to answer BenQ in its own unique style with the launch of the SP-P140 LED projector, reports Ubergizmo. This new projector looks a bit similar to the Joybee projector. The only difference is that the SP-P140 is more bulky (it looks like that) and curvy as compared to the Joybee.

The Samsung SP-P410 projector measures 147.5mm x 66.3mm x 145.5mm and flaunts a glossy black surface. This LED projector theoretically supports a SXGA resolution of up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. But in reality it is capable of displaying images in SVGA resolution of up to 800 x 600 pixels. This is a bit more than the 720 x 480 pixel resolution of the BenQ projector.

The projector supports a contrast ratio of 1000:1 along with 170 ANSI lumens of brightness. Although the measurement of ANCI lumens is more than the Joybee, it is still way below the expected norm of 1000 lumens. The USB connection and the support for a wide range of audio and video formats renders the SP-P140 a spontaneous and portable media player.

The features of this projector render the SP-P140 a strong opponent of the Joybee. The higher ANSI lumens and contrast ratio of this projector look quite promising but hope that they meet up to the expectations. There is no official word on the pricing and availability of the Samsung SP-P410 projector as yet. Let’s hope it comes our way soon.
