Barnes & Noble Nook ebook reader gets delayed

B&N Nook eBook Reader

Barnes & Noble has delayed the availability of its latest Nook ebook reader. The dual-screen reader was scheduled to start shipping at the end of this month. However, the company claims that the reader will reach consumers in time for Christmas.

Barnes & Noble has commented that this delay was caused by the higher than expected sales numbers. Well, it looks like B&N underestimated the popularity of the Nook. Anyways, users won’t have to wait long for this reader as it will start shipping next month.

The Nook boasts of its 3G wireless connection, two screens and an equally vast eBook store. It features a six-inch 16-level E-ink screen with a color touchscreen underneath for navigation and settings purposes. It is powered by Android operating system and claims to deliver enhanced performance. The LCD that this dainty device features is quite passive and has a shallow viewing angle to gather more ambient light. This arrangement is said to extend the battery life of the reader.

The Barnes & Noble Nook ebook reader is price tagged at $259 (approx Rs. 12,023). The reader was said to start shipping on November 30 but is now expected to start shipping on December 11.
