AUO 6-inch eBook with Sipix Microcup technology
AUO’s new 6-inch touch function ebook will make a worldwide debut at Display Taiwan this year. The device is powered by Sipix’s Microcup technology. The e-paper has been gaining popularity because of its features like low power consumption, light weight and portability.
The applications using e-paper include E-magazines, E-books, E-textbooks, E-labels and E-tags. The ebook has a high-definition screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The screen incorporates 16 shades of gray, a high contrast ratio and reflectance. These features make the ebook perfect for prolonged use.

E-paper technology will provide a paperless eco-lifestyle to consumers, enable businesspeople to acquire information in faster, more portable and convenient ways, allow students to enjoy easy “light” learning, as well as help store managers to reduce cost thru e-labels. This ebook is an eco-friendly product that consumes power only when updating images or refreshing the pages. The ebook claims to be a cost efficient technology, which meets the needs of several clients.
AUO will be displaying this technology for the first time in Taiwan. The pricing and availability are still unknown.
