Mitsubishi XD500U, XD510U, XD520U and SD510U Projectors Announced

Mitsubishi logo Mitsubishi has announced its 500th family of projectors, namely XD500U, XD510U, XD520U and SD510U. All the four display peripherals are equipped with Texas Instruments’ new DDP 2230 DMD chip with DLP technology and the latest version of BrilliantColor to deliver improved color performance.

The XGA projectors deliver 1024 x 768 pixels. While the XD500U comes at 2200 lumens, XD510U at 2600 lumens, XD520U at 3000 lumens; the SVGA model that consists of SD510U offers 800 x 600 pixels at 2200 lumens. Each projector incorporates a six-segment color wheel (R, G, B, W, Y, C) to produce dazzling overall color.

With its Color Enhancer2 and dynamic lamp power design, the projector has the ability to automatically adjust light output for the most vibrant color performance for any slide or video scene. A center lens and top-loading lamp allows the filter-free projectors to install and replace the lamp with ease.

“Our new 500 DLP series of projectors offers probably the best projectors available at their price points,” quoted Wayne Kozuki, product manager for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. “Apart from their completely new design, the family’s improved color performance removes all obstacles that stop LCD projector users from moving to DLP technology.”

Furthermore, it also sports separate audio inputs for computer and video, dual computer inputs and a monitor loop through to maximize set up and installation options, as well as RS232 for remote projector management. The projectors also come with a splash screen, password protection and reinforced anti-theft security bar.

Users have the ability to choose a surface color such as beige, blue, green and pink that would support the color wall, blackboard or whiteboard. All models then automatically adjust its output to create the best image possible that suit the background or the base color.

Expected to ship this month, the pricing of Mitsubishi’s 500 series projectors start from $995 (approx. Rs. 39,800).
