Panasonic IP enabled PZ850 series of Plasma TVs

Panasonic PZ850

Panasonic introduces TH-50PZ850 and TH-65PZ850 to its acclaimed internet enabled Plasma line called PZ850 series. The 58-inch TH-58PZ850 and 64.7-inch TH-65PZ850 are the first internet enabled TVs and include a number of step-up features.

With the PZ850 IP enabled televisions you can access the on-line content directly from the television with VIERA CAST technology. VIERA CAST streams web content directly to your VIERA HDTV by eliminating the need for an external box or a PC. It also lets you access the unlimited YouTube library, share digital photos from Picasa Web Albums, get local weather updates and access financial data from Bloomberg.

“We’re very excited about the technological advances that have been incorporated into VIERA’s PZ850 series and the bigger screen sizes should prove extremely beneficial to both Panasonic and the CEDIA membership,” said Bob Perry, Senior Vice President, Panasonic Display Products Company. “The 58-inch and 65-inch now stand beside their smaller brethren to provide the installer with a number of screen size options. IPTV in particular is a technology that by providing access to on-line content directly from the TV, allows the consumer to optimize his or her options and use the VIERA Plasma for more than entertainment. Now the consumer has a large screen TV that is also the source of an endless stream of internet information.”

Providing detailed images, high moving-picture resolution, advanced networking and excellent compatibility with other AV devices, the PZ850 series also features a Pro Setting Menu, contrast ratio of 30,000:1, dynamic ratio of 1,000,000:1, Digital Cinema Color Re-Mastering, 24p native reproduction, Game Mode, an SD memory Card slot, RS-232C connection, four HDMI connections, increased luminous efficiency, lead free panels and a PC input.

The Panasonic PZ850 series also incorporates a Game Mode that minimizes the time lag while displaying game images.

“As a result of listening to our customers, Panasonic’s flagship VIERA line features a Pro Setting Mode that provides the consumer with access to calibration software,” said Perry. “This is yet another example of Panasonic’s philosophy of ideas for life from life.”

The TH-65PZ850 is expected at a retail price of $6999.95 (approx Rs. 3,12,124) while the TH-58PZ850 will carry a price tag worth $3999.95 (approx Rs. 1,78,389).
