MEDION GoPal P5235, P5435 and X5535 Personal Navigation Devices with AES1510 Fingerprint Sensor
MEDION AG and AuthenTec has announced new GoPal P5235, P5435 and X5535 Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs) with AuthenTec’s fingerprint sensor that enhances user security and avoids thefts. These PNDs are now shipping in select European markets.
The PNDs equip AuthenTec’s small form factor AES1510 fingerprint sensor and ensures that the device is activated only by the authorized users. It can save about five different user fingerprints.
MEDION GoPal P5235, P5435 and X5535 Personal Navigation Devices sport a 5-inch display and features extremely fast route calculation as well as response to input commands which includes voice control and Traffic Message Channel (TMC) reception.
The MEDION GoPal X5535 claims to be the first PND that offers built-in gyrometer technology which compensates for temporary GPS signal loss.
The AuthenTec AES1510 fingerprint sensor is based on the company’s patented TruePrint technology that reads below the surface of the skin to the live layer where a person’s fingerprint is formed. Thus these sensors can read virtually every fingerprint.
There is no word on the pricing and availability.
