Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX200V, DSC-WX70, DSC-WX50 cameras unveiled

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX200V, DSC-WX70, and DSC-WX50 are the three latest members in the Japanese OEM’s collection of compact cameras. While the DSC-TX200V is an addition to the Cyber-shot T series, the other two entrants will expand the W lineup which boasts of conventional designs.

The DSC-TX200V camera also introduces a new Bionz processor that is expected to create videos as well as images with low noise. The device enters the terrain packed with an Exmor R CMOS sensor of 18.2MP specification. The company believes this to be the highest resolution currently available in the existing point and shoot range. Dressed in striking hues like red, violet, and silver, the snapper flaunts a 3.3-inch Xtra Fine TruBlack OLED touchscreen display.

“We continue to innovate in the compact camera space, finding new ways to help consumers produce high-quality photos and videos as easily as possible, regardless of lighting conditions. With new technologies designed to improve the overall imaging experience – including extended creativity, control and more – this new lineup of Cyber-shot cameras delivers impressive results with stylish, pocket-sized bodies,” conveyed Yosuke Tomoda, director of the Cyber-shot business at Sony Electronics.

Furthermore, the other two new devices namely, the DSC-WX70 and DSC-WX50 models flaunt a 16.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor each. The flipside of both these cameras is expected to be graced with 2.7-inch LCD screens. Using the nine ‘picture effect’ options, an instant dash of creativity can also be added to the images clicked via these Cyber-shots.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX200V, DSC-WX70 and DSC-WX50 compact cameras are expected to hit markets by March this year. However, the exact release date and price details are still under wraps for now.
