This series of compact cameras operates on the fifth generation Digic 5 processor and allows for Wi-Fi and HD video recording too. The PowerShot lineup is inclusive of 7 new models, 5 from the PowerShot A series and 2 from PowerShot SX series.
Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India remarked, “Canon’s technologies are produced by high aspirations and challenging spirits of our engineers. We use constant innovation and new technology introductions to create new propositions that help in expanding rapidly and becoming both demanding and smarter.”

“Canons camera business today contributes about 45% to our total business and this contribution is expected to grow as consumption in the country increases with focus on inclusive growth. The cameras we have introduced today not just define our vision of the industry but are also a step to building a more resilient brand. Today we introduced the Wi-Fi capabilities of our cameras and video camcorders. With Wi-Fi functionality, our customers can now load pictures easily to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and also to other Wi-Fi cameras of Canon,” added Bharadwaj.
Apart from the advanced processor integrated into the profile, the Wi-Fi system enables efficient and real-time transfer of pictures. The Face ID attribute incorporated by the snappers has the capacity to recognize faces in a crowd and adjust the settings to deliver a decent shot.
The high precision processing technologies used by the lenses of the offerings seek to provide quality optical outcomes. Improvements in the intelligent IS and Optical IS systems aim to enhance the cumulative encounter with the device, as revealed by the company.
What’s more, the cameras support recording videos at full HD resolutions in 1920 × 1080 pixels. A simple tap of the finger could be enough to take an image with the help of the Touch Shutter feature. Users can capture moments in still as well as video forms by means of the Movie Digest. The HS system embedded within the snappers deliver less noise at high ISOs.
The slimmer profile encompassing an advanced processor is apparently the highlight of this Canon camera range which has already washed up ashore in India.
