D-Can camera concept conforms to digital photography

D-Can Concept Camera 01

Professional photographers aiming to experiment with a camera sporting a distinct form factor can take a look at the D-Can concept. Developed by designer Jean-michel Bonnemoy, this new snapper appears to be cylindrical in shape, making it more convenient to hold while capturing photos.

This concept of a camera conforms to the digitalized world, while seeking to reduce the cumulative volume of the device. The offering is inclusive of a stabilized USM lens, lens cap, electronic flash, and AF-assist illuminator. To enable macrophotography, the gadget is expected to feature an extension cursor too.

The profile also supports sockets for transfixing peripherals like an audio headset, microphone and power supply. Photographers can use the HD back screen to focus and regulate the parameters with the help of a trackball. It also entails an accessory shoe that is capable of accommodating a remote control receiver and a directional microphone, apart from the electronic flash.

The mechanism is slated to function in any of the 2 configurations. Firstly, the device can be accessed at the level of the eye and secondly, by direct focus on the directional back screen. The lithium batteries are touted to power the offering, which can also be substituted by AA size batteries.

The former configuration allows for detailed centring along with precise focus control. Moreover, the magnifier with diopter adjustment provides an enlarged image. Additionally, the memory card, HDMI connectors and USB ports are accessible via the back block of aim. The snapper also features thumb wheels which can be used as per the desired mode of operation.

According to Yanko Design, the D-Can camera is still in the conceptual stage and no official release date and pricing details have been released for the same.
